About the Artist
Hello! My name is Christina, and I'm the Artist behind Sistercitytrade.
The origin of Sistercitytrade comes from my personal interpretation of a Sister City relationship. Growing up in New Brunswick, NJ I was first introduced to the Sister City concept at an early age. The City of New Brunswick has an established connection with both Japan & Ireland! Through the organization, my family was able to host exchange students from Japan! Although I was young at the time, it was an incredible exchange of culture, and I’ve been fascinated by the concept ever since!
When I was a kid, I taught myself how to crochet, I loved to paint, and I even took ballet classes & others forms of dance lessons. My family always encouraged me to follow my passion for Art. This support helped me find the confidence to create my own Artwork, and the courage to flourish and grow as an Artist… After high school, I briefly studied through The University of the Arts London. I then continued my studies in Textile & Surface Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Although I love to work with a variety of mediums, my most popular offerings are hand painted wine glasses & hand crafted jewelry. I pop up all over New Jersey. I collaborate with other creative small businesses. I host Paint & Sip workshops, facilitate pop up bracelet making, and sell original artwork at my Local Farmer’s Market.
Giving back is very important to me, and I donate proceeds from my beaded bracelets to Non-Profit 501(3)C Animal Sanctuaries all across NJ.
Sistercitytrade is about the power of key relationships, continued learning, and the original art I am able to create and share with others.
